| After we had properly greeted this gem
of a man with "Buenos", my response to his question was "No gracious." He
had simply asked, "Quiere?" He was asking if I wanted to buy the flowers
and my response was the automatic polite, no thank you. We got into
the car and drove down the street a little ways, then, I changed my mind.
What prompted me to turn around and go back was not the flowers, but
the incredible person walking down the street holding them. Our conversation
in my broken Spanish was as delghtful as the flowers he was selling. We
talked for a little while on the street in the beautiful mountain town of
Boquete then I purchased the flowers and we parted. |
